ARTIST STATEMENT

R. Christopher Maxwell (Stage Manager) hails from the bustling southern metropolis of Little Rock, Arkansas and currently resides in Harlem, New York.  CMax earned a B.A. in Theater Arts-Dance and Sociology from The University of Arkansas in Little Rock, and  received a Master's of Fine Arts in Stage Management from Columbia University's School of the Arts.  Christopher is currently an adjunct faculty at SUNY Albany. He is a 6th year Stage Manager at Actor's Equity Association.  He also serves as Director at Large and New York Metro Regional Representative for the Stage Manager’s Association.  His work is made available by the love of his furry goblins.  The past 20 years of Christopher's career has been dedicated to producing extraordinary works and coordinating successful events in a highly organized and timely manner.  He aspires to use his education and experience to center the voices of marginalized communities and advance the work of other queer artists and the diaspora of colored people.  He believes that an educational background, an ever expanding wealth of experience, and unbridled southern warmth and enthusiasm make him an excellent collaborator.
